 ·        Assisted shelter director at Chicago Animal Control with establishing volunteer
     programs and coordinating with breed rescue groups.
     Established Chicago Rottweiler Connection, a Rottweiler rescue,
     and formed a coalition of dog trainers to foster, train and socialize
     the dogs before placing them with adopters. 

 ·        D.A.R.T. certified by the HSUS for animal rescue in disaster areas,
     working on the Gulf coast after Hurricane Katrina and fostering special needs
     dogs at her home to prepare them for adoption. 

 ·        CPDT and member APDT, and certified team member, Therapy Dogs Intl. 

 ·        Participated for the last two years in Reading to Dogs programs and addressed
     classrooms about compassionate dog care and safe handling. 

 ·        Teaching Operant Conditioning at the high school level to
     veterinary sciences students.

In Amy’s new DVD, “Drool School”,
kids aged 3 through 13 are featured training their dogs
in obedience, good manners,
tricks and game playing.
Moms show their young children
how to pet and play with the dog safely,
and older kids gain confidence giving commands,
pitching in on daily care, and building a bond with their best friend. Typical problems are also addressed and practical solutions are shown. Animation and kid-friendly graphics make it entertaining
for younger children.
